Movie Review – Smart Money

Smart Money (1931)

Edward G. Robinson, James Cagney, Evalyn Knapp, and Ralf Harolde

Favorite Scene: Where Robinson (Nick the Barber) kicks Harolde's (Sleepy Sam) ass at cards and gets a boatload of his money. He goes to leave and Sleepy Sam and his boys get up and one of them says, “Wait a minute, Nick!” But Nickie is no fool. He opens the door and two men come in pointing guns at which point Cagney (Jack) says in his famous voice, “Behaaave.”

Favorite Actor: Edward Robinson is the stud in this film.

Favorite quote:

Irene: Who'll give me a half a dollar for my hand?

Nick: Uh, I wouldn't give you a nickel for your whole body.

Rating: 💎💎💎1/2

It was a great movie, but Cagney didn't have that many scenes in it. Still I would check it out!

♠♥♣♦ is about gambling and cards!
